Up to $1,133 toward qualifying electrical preparation
A customer credit for eligible wiring, electrical panel, outlet, circuit and related work to prepare the property for Level 2 charging. The charger itself is not an eligible expense.
Who may qualify: Duke Energy North Carolina residential electric account, EV registered to qualifying address, completed qualifying work and documentation.
- Confirm Duke Energy Carolinas or Duke Energy Progress electric service, not another local utility.
- The charger purchase itself is excluded; not all installation labor or permitting charges qualify.
- Retain EV registration, a paid itemized contractor invoice and an approved permit.
- Credit amount depends on qualifying costs and utility approval.
Service-area note: North Carolina Duke electric-service customers only; ZIP does not prove service territory.

- Confirm the name of the electric delivery utility on the bill, not just the ZIP code or retail energy supplier.
- Check eligible hardware and whether wiring, contractor labor, permitting or electrical panel upgrades are covered.
- Confirm any preapproval requirement, income criteria, contractor-network restriction, funding window and stacking policy.
- Ask the utility for a dated written eligibility determination whenever possible.
