What does your electric utility pay toward EV charging?
There is no national one-size-fits-all EV charger rebate. Programs depend on your actual electric service provider, equipment, work performed, local rules and the utility's approval. This editorial library links directly to source material.
Three types of incentive
Upfront equipment: a qualified charger purchase. Electrical preparation: wiring, panels or qualifying contractor work. Charging participation: future bill rewards or off-peak rates, not installation reimbursements.

Visit the DOE Utility Finder to identify potential nearby electricity providers and consult the DOE utility incentives index. Then confirm the electric utility using the bill and ask about equipment, make-ready, wiring and managed-charging programs.
Federal note: The former Section 30C home charger credit does not apply to new installations placed in service after June 30, 2026. Utility programs are separate.
